Overview

Modern Essentials is an ecommerce store powered by Shopify. This Shipping Policy explains how orders are processed, shipped, tracked, and delivered.

Order Processing Times

Orders are typically processed within customized timelines based upon business days after payment is authorized. Orders placed on weekends, holidays, or after suppliers window of hours of operation may begin processing on the next business day.

• Processing time — Customized Based upon Products, Services and also dependent upon subscription plans, bulk orders, and customer loyalty programs.
  
  

• Order review — We may contact you to verify order or payment information before shipment.
  
  

• Pre-orders or backorders — At the sole discretion of supplier’s terms and conditions of each product and service deliverance.
  
  

Shipping Destinations

We ship to certain countries and jurisdictions. Certain products, postal codes, remote areas, or locations may be excluded from delivery. The available destination and options for a specific order will be shown at checkout where applicable.

• Remote or restricted areas — Applicable restrictions, surcharges, or special arrangements may be made in these cases.
  
  

Shipping Methods and Estimated Delivery Windows

Available shipping options, estimated delivery windows, and fees will be displayed at checkout or disclosed on the applicable product page. All are dependent upon delivery options available for the products and services being offered. Furthermore, customers may receive better rates if they are under subscriptions options and/or our loyalty programs.

Shipping Fees and Free Shipping

Shipping fees are calculated and displayed at checkout based on fee factors, such as destination, package size, weight, selected method, product type, and other reasonable variables. Any applicable free-shipping offer is reliant upon products and services being offered at the time they are purchased from our platform. Products or destinations excluded from free shipping include the same variables and details as mentioned above. 

Supplier-Fulfilled Orders

Most or all products may be shipped directly by a supplier or fulfillment partner. Supplier-fulfilled products may have different processing times, carriers, shipping fees, delivery windows, packaging, tracking practices, or destination restrictions. Any supplier-specific shipping terms disclosed on the applicable product page, at checkout, or in an order communication may apply to that product.

If an order contains products fulfilled by different suppliers, those products may ship separately and may arrive at different times. We will provide available shipment information in accordance with the applicable supplier and carrier terms.

Tracking

When tracking is available, we will send tracking information to the email address provided with the order after the shipment is handed to the carrier. Tracking updates are provided by the carrier and may take a customized or specific time period to appear. Some shipping methods, destinations, or supplier-fulfilled products may not include tracking based and dependent upon the carrier and/or fulfillment option(s) selected.

Delays and Delivery Estimates

Delivery estimates usually begin at the time when the order is confirmed or received from the supplier and/or fulfillment centre. Delivery estimates sometimes or may usually exclude weekends, holidays, and/or special cases. Guarantees are not granted. Orders may be delayed by carrier capacity, severe weather, natural events, special cases, customs processing, public holidays, inaccurate or incomplete addresses, supplier delays, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If an order is unreasonably delayed beyond the estimated timeframe, contact us at shahrealtors300@gmail.com with your order number. We will review the available information and advise you of the next steps under the applicable carrier, supplier, and legal requirements.

Incorrect or Incomplete Addresses

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, including apartment, unit, postal code, access, and contact details where required. If you identify an address error, contact the fulfillment centre or us as soon as possible at shahrealtors300@gmail.com, and before the order ships. We will try to assist, but an address change cannot be guaranteed once processing or shipment has begun.

Any re-shipping fee, address-correction fee, or other charge resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address will be handled as follows on a case to case basis.

Undeliverable, Refused, Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages

• Undeliverable or refused packages — If a package is returned because it cannot be delivered or was refused, contact us at shahrealtors300@gmail.com. Refunds, re-shipping, and any deductions or additional fees will be handled on a case to case basis.
  
  

• Lost packages — If tracking indicates that a package is lost or has not arrived after the set out or estimated timeframe, contact us with your order number and tracking details. We will investigate with the carrier or supplier and apply any applicable credits on a case to case basis.
  
  

• Stolen packages — If tracking shows delivery but you cannot locate the package, first check the delivery location and contact any possible responsive authority at the location and/or jurisdiction. Notify us immediately (within 48 hours) and continue your personal investigation in the meantime as we begin our investigative process, so we can review available options. Any replacement, refund, or claim process is subject to changes, customized solutions, and/or on a case to case basis.
  
  

• Damaged packages — Notify us at shahrealtors300@gmail.com immediately (within 48 hours) and provide your order number, photographs of the package and products, and a description of the damage. We will review the report and advise you of the available remedy.
  
  

Order Changes and Cancellations Before Shipment

To request a change or cancellation before shipment, contact shahrealtors300@gmail.com promptly with your order number and requested change. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request, but changes and cancellations are not guaranteed once an order has entered processing, been assigned to a supplier, or shipped. If a cancellation cannot be completed, the applicable return is dependent on the agreed upon terms and conditions on the purchase transaction.

International Shipping, Customs, Duties, and Taxes

Certain, specific, and/or customized orders shipped outside of our scope of fulfillment ability and most international orders, the customer is responsible for certain obligations and/or responsibility for customs clearance, duties, taxes, brokerage charges, import fees, and other assessments, unless otherwise stated at checkout or on the applicable product page.

International orders may be delayed by customs or border authorities. Modern Essentials, Shopify and its affiliates cannot control customs decisions, inspection times, import restrictions, or fees imposed by the destination jurisdiction. Customers should review the import requirements that apply to their destination before placing an order. 

• Customs documentation — Is usually provided by the fulfillment centre, supplier, or organized by yourself in certain cases. We recommend you hire professionals to assist or handle all shipments to avoid any issues.
  
  

• Taxes and duties — All taxes, duties, tariffs, brokerage charges, and import fees are included at checkout or payable on delivery. However in certain cases and/or customized orders you will need to fulfill these requirements through your fulfillment centre, supplier, and/or by yourself. We recommend you hire professionals to assist or handle all shipments to avoid any issues.
  
  

• Refused or abandoned international shipments — All confirmed returns, refunds, and related fees will be applied and fulfilled on a case to case basis. We can assist you through this process.
  
  

Split Shipments

An order containing multiple products may be shipped in separate packages, particularly when products are fulfilled by different suppliers, shipped from different locations, or become available at different times. You may receive separate tracking details and separate delivery dates. Unless otherwise stated, additional shipping fees may apply to split shipments.

Policy Review and Applicable Law

This policy shall be under the governance of Canadian laws, consumer-protection requirements, privacy requirements, customs rules, and the laws of each jurisdiction served by Modern Essentials. Where required by law, applicable legal rights prevail over any conflicting term in this policy.

Purchaser hereafter known as the "Customer" agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Modern Essentials and its affiliates, Shopify and its affiliates, Suppliers, Retailers, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all third-party claims, liabilities, losses, damages, fines, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or resulting from: (a) any late shipment, non-delivery, or misrouting of products shipped directly to customers; (b) any loss, theft, or physical damage to products occurring during fulfillment and transit handled by Modern Essentials, Shopify, and its affiliates, Supplier and/or its chosen carriers; or (c) any breach by Supplier or any parties listed above of the shipping and fulfillment service levels agreed upon in this contract.
